S.W.A.G. students have access to over one dozen exclusive events between March 25th and March 28th (all listed below). There is no limit to the number of events a student can participate in. Be sure to register early as space is limited.

We kick-off S.W.A.G. week with a full day of events at Temple University. The day will begin promptly at 10:30 AM.  All S.W.A.G. students must attend to get information for the week. ​Events include:

Opening Ceremony
​We celebrate high academic achievers and enjoy various performances.

Opportunity Fair
​25 vendors will present summer opportunities for students (camps, internships, jobs, etc.) and scholarships for college. Students can apply for jobs on the spot at places like KicksUSA, City Year, Franklin Institute, PhillyCAM, Penn Summer Scholars, and more,

​Beat the SAT/ACT
Expert instructors from Kaplan and ACT lead workshops on how to successfully complete each test.

**Special Lunch with School District of Philadelphia Superintendent Dr. Hite after the Exam**
​Students have the opportunity to take a full length ACT practice-test, proctored to simulate the actual test-day experience. Be sure to get here at least by 8:30AM, like the real exam. Test will start promptly at 9AM.

Career Speed Networking
Juniors and seniors have dinner with professionals from the top careers.
Career Day
​Select juniors and seniors are provided with a meaningful introduction to the world of a professional career and a context for understanding the relationship and interaction between the academics taught in the classroom and the workplace.

College4Kids​​
Middle school students at Vare and Shaw will paint murals and clean-up their communities while working with college students. Note: Middle School students in the area are welcome to attend. If interested, email info@phillygoes2college.com.

Cheer on middle school teams from Congreso and Lenfest Center during a basketball tournament. Parents can join in on Zumba and a Graduation Coach training at 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM.

Interested in science? OR Interested in studying science in college? Enjoy access to the Franklin Institute’s 10 hands-on core exhibits – including Changing Earth, Sports Challenge, and The Giant Heart, special screening at the Fels Planetarium and three floors of interactive science activities– like live science shows, hands-on carts, and pop-up demonstrations.
